My wife is on my case to get this fixed before Thanksgiving, so I hope someone can help!

The icemaker does not produce ice. It is a modular unit. I took the cover off the control module and tried testing with the holes/ports surrounding the dial. I tried the technique explained here:

YouTube - Simple Icemaker Check

...and was able to trigger the water to come into the unit by sitcking a clip into the V and L holes. So the problem doesn't seem to be with the water inlet tube.

I believe the thermostat might be bad (no OHM reading when I used a multitester) but am not sure. With this unit, do I have to replace the entire icemaker or just the control module?

Any advice would be appreciated.

What's the temperature in the freezer? Is the icemaker filling with water?

Not sure of the temperature (seems fine) but the icemaker is not calling for water to fill the tray unless I manually trigger it to do it. Which tells me the icemaker itself is bad.

Most modular icemakers won't call for water until the freezer temperature is below 17 degrees F. You already know your water valve works. Test the freezer temperature. If it's good, you probably need to replace the icemaker.

Thanks for your help. I tested it yesterday and it was well below 17 degrees so it must be the icemaker.
