Model Number: 106.53293202 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a bad start relay. I am trying to start the compressor with a 3 in 1 relay. The compressor runs, but get hot. The metal part in front between doors get hot too. Please help!

Are you sure the compressor is running. You can switch the run and start leads momentarily from the 3N1 to "bump" the compressor. As far as the strip between the doors it is called a "mullion heater" or anti-sweat heater.

You might want to check and see if the condenser motor, which is right next to the compressor is running. They have a replacement kit for that motor. They have had a few problems with it. So if it is not running tell them you want the replacement kit, that is a different motor, and it comes with the new fan blade in the box. The discharge line from the compressor runs up that center strip to stop any sweating, if it gets too hot the motor is either not running, or nor running fast enough. Let us know. Oh Yea, I remember the maytag dryer, that had the sensor, in the drum, where the wet clothes would send a charge to the capacitor, and then the capacitor, would then advance the timer. Oh, it had 2 belts too. Tom ********************************************
