My freezer defrosted then a day later the refrigerator stopped working. The the fan is running but the compressor stopped working. It is warm to the touch. Is there an electronic part that I can replace or is the compressor bad? I unplugged, then re-plugged in the unit and it is still the same.

It's possible the start component(s) on the compressor are defective which troubleshooting is worth the expense... The other possibility is a bad compressor which may mean time for a new fridge... The model you listed is incomplete/incorrect to see what parts are needed to identify... cheers

the full model # is 79579304900. could it possibly be the production capacitor? When I put it on my ohm meter I get no continuity reading at all.

I'm not finding an exact match of replacement parts for your model so you can try the universal AP4503032 relay combo to see if your compressor is still good.. Hope it starts for you - kooler
