Built in 1997. I had just bought a used Whirlpool 22', freezer top and heading back home a tour bus caused the Whirlpool to fall over, break through the tail gate and out on to 664. Luckily no one was hurt and the fridge recovered. Other than a few minor scratches and severe road rash on the power cord, ti seemed to survive very well.
I replaced the power cord by splicing and soldering a new one. When I added power I thought things were fine as the lights came on and the freezer fan was running. I used a IR thermometer to check the freezer and lower unit. It seemed that the freezer was working but I later checked and discovered that the compressor and evaporator fan were not running. If it was briefly I am not sure.
At any rate I hooked 120 VAC directly to the compressor and it runs an things get cold. The clip that holds the relay covers on the compressor was hanging only by one side and the cover...if there ever was one...was gone. There is a red wire going to the top relay and a white wire going to the lower relay. Both show 120 VAC to ground. I think I may be missing a compressor starting capacitor and a couple of wires for the other terminals on the lower relay. There are two terminals on the right side and one terminal on the left side. Any test procedures or thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.
