My refrigerator stopped working one day. I unplugged it and plugged it back and it started again. It then never got completely cold again. So I looked at the coils and they were completely frosted over. I have it unplugged and the door open to thaw the coils out. Will this fix the problem or is the defroster bad? I can work on things but don't know much about freezer/refrigerators.
Thanks

I wasn't able to pull up the model you have posted, but I did pull up this: Model GSS22WGMDBBIf this looks like your model you will need to check the defrost heater, galss tubes under the evaporator behind the rear panel in the freezer. Nat

Nat,
Thanks. I just used a hair dryer to melt all the frost and found the defrost tube. It is black and burnt out. Do you think Home Depot or Lowes has these or is it an online order?
Thanks

Their parts department may have one, or a local appliance repair company. Although ordering from this site will probably be cheaper, these guys sell basically at wholesale prices, part # AP4355467. Nat
