Hi,
I am endeavouring to replace a broken water dispencer lever but have no idea where to start dismantling, from the front panel or from inside the door. Have inspected what I thought was the logical starting point, removing the front panel, but it appears to be stuborn and am not wishing to force the panel in case I do some damage.
We purchased this no-frost refrigerator- freezer back in 1991, it has been just a wonerful refrigerator/freezer. Unfortunately the frequent use has rendered the lever inoperable.
I look forward to receiving your comments.
Regards.

Hi Chris,

In order to access and diagnose the problem you have to remove the front cover. The front dispenser cover can be removed by inserting a screwdriver blade into the two slots on the bottom side of the cover. By gently turning the blade, the cover will snap free at the bottom and can be slid upward to be removed.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool refrigerator Model ED22DWXTF00
