Default Hotpoint Defrost Control Access
Brand: Hotpoint   Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Hotpoint 21 cu ft top freezer refrigerator. It is having trouble cooling and I think the defrost control is shot. I bought a new control (WR9X520) and found it is located behind the panel with the temperature control in the refrigerator section.

There is one screw on on the left side of the panel which is easily removed. However, it seems like the right side is held by some sort of tab which I can't release. Does anyone know how to release it?

Thanks.

You just push in on the side of the housing and tilt out, retaining tab will come loose.
