Unit doesn't seem to start cooling when appropriate. Its cold but not up to spec's. Jiggling the temperature control slide switch seems to get it to start up and everything works fine. It gets to appropriate temp, then shuts down as expected. However, doesn't start back up when it should. Do I have a bad temp. control part or some other problem?

Based on your description,

I would have to suspect a bad control or linkage to the control(possible but not likely).

Which control slide are you jiggling ? the freezer or the refrigerator control.

Refrigerator control / damper assembly
Part number: AP72267
Part number: AP72267

Freezer control
Part number: AP4253320
Part number: AP4253320

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

JF,

That's the way I would go,

Replace the freezer control.

I would.

(the part you need is on the previous post).

Good Luck,
