My Frigidaire FRS26R4CB0 side by side fridge/freezer is freezing everything. I've adjusted the freezer and fridge settings to almost zero and it still keeps running.
It seems like the system is constantly running, never shutting off. It's been like this for over a month now. I've tried various things, like cleaning the coils and adjusting the dials. Letting it thaw out completely and plugging it back in. Nothing seems to help.

I suspect a bad thermostat, but have read a few posts on this site and now I'm a little lost. One post points to a bad Adaptive Defrost Control Board, which is nearly $100. Another indicates a bad Damper Control, the kit is $200. I'd much rather pay for the thermostat, but I can't afford to be guessing, so can someone help me?

In short: Fridge is freezing (~28 degrees F), Freezer is freezing (~0 degrees F).
Any ideas?

Thanks

Will

Will,

Turn the Fresh Food temperature control CCW to the Off position (you should feel it) or until it stops. The damper should close and the fan should shut off, if the compressor is not running.

If the damper did not close, replace the damper control assembly.

If the damper did close, replace the Fresh Food temperature control.
