I recently ordered a replacemnt ice door kit for a kitchen aid ksrp25fnst00 but there are not any instructions on how to install it. The current fridge does not have one installed at all (rental home and I believe it was broken off and was like this when I got it). If there are any instructions around that would be very helpful. If anything, I would love to know how to safely remove the cover on the Ice / Water dispenser in order to begin the work, it would be a start. I have a parts diagram but at least need to get the cover off to attempt to replace if there are no other diagrams. Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

Thanks,
Westy

Thanks for the help Gene. Upon removal of the cover and the control panel, I have found that the dipsenser housing has a broken tab that receives the pin that holds the flap in place. I attempted to remove the housing but it does not appear that it will come out. Can this part be replaced or is there some other way to fix this problem without replacing the entire door?

Unfortunately the dispenser housing is not serviceable. It comes as a part of the freezer door assembly which is very expensive.

You can try to use the solution posted in one of our previous threads: http://forum.appliancepartspros...ool-ice-water-cover.html
