Model Number: 10656532400 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
1st found the Motor-module was bad after IceMaker stopped making cubes. Then worked for about 3 weeks after replacing the Motor -module . Next replaced with another Motor -module after IceMaker stopped making cubes again. NOW won't work at all. Won't fill with water and motor will not run. Put Motor -module assembly on bench used jumper cord to supply 115V to it. Motor went through complete cycle on bench. Checked incoming voltage at incoming plug in freezer (plug before the 5A inline fuse. No voltage there. Lights in freezer work along with everything else EXCEPT the icemaker Motor -module. Where could the incoming voltage line be open before reaching this plug?

Check the thermostat inside the icemaker.

If there is a thermostat on the inside of the icemaker how can that prevent No 115v at the incoming plug on the left side of the compartment? I'm checking the voltage at the plug with the unit unplugged from that incoming plug! Thanks

Can someone tell me where does the 115v come from that powers the icemaker plug on the right side of the icemaker. By that I mean where does the incoming power on the black w white strip and the white wires feed from (115v)? A terminal connection? A Wiring bundle with no fuses? Where does the 115v break off to the various devices in the whole refriderator?

I am having a similar problem as Jake. However, I am getting a voltage reading from the plug inside the freezer wall. the voltage is only 65 volts.
this seems odd, since the icemaker has a sticker on it which says 115V AC 60hz. Is there a voltage regulator somewhere else in the fridge? Should the icemaker be getting 115 volts? The motor works fine when connected to 115volts AC directly. |

GrangeCam, After seeing you post I went in with a VOM and see I do have what I would consider a "soft Voltage" of about 9V AC so I assume WE DO have the same problem!! I hope someone here can identify this problem for us!
