Only freezes in "quick freeze" mode

Only freezes in "quick freeze" mode

Model Number: 253.9280413 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years

My Kenmore upright freezer only works in "quick freeze" mode. After I push the qf button, it works great for about 10-12 hrs. After that, it stops freezing completely (unless I push the quick freeze button again). I have already changed the temperature control. What could be causing this????
