Model Number: GSS25 Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
Compressor, condenser, and evaporator fan are all running. Defrost heater seems to work fine but I can't get any frost on my coils? It forms on the tubing on the left side and bottom of the coils -Thats it!
In the picture I have circled in red the only frosted parts of the coil assembly. What is the problem? Ads By Google Related Models |

The picture link you posted does not work.
The model number you posted is incomplete. If the evaporator is covered partially, possible there is a problem with the sealed system. Gene.

The attachment feature doesn't work...
If you want to see a picture I can send it. I read somewhere that someone had a similar problem and it ended up being the evaporator fan motor. I guess the RPMs were low. They replaced the motor and circuit board and that took care of it. Is there any way of testing the evaporator fan? Or is there a way of verifying that there is a problem with the sealed system? Tom,
If there is a problem with the evaporator fan, the evaporator will be completely frozen up. If there is only a chunk of ice somewhere on the coils, very likely the system is low on Freon due to a leak. Gene.
