The icemaker in my French Door Refrigerator makes a buzzing noise and sometimes the freezer begins to defrost. Paid an appliance repair technician to come and check. He didn't find anything wrong, but the buzzing noise continues and is driving me mad!

One of the possible causes of such noise could be water entering the ice maker. It's very hard to diagnose.

Gene,

Thanks for the response. Initially, there was a noise when the icemaker filled with water and that was okay. The buzzing noise was initially only when the icemake was full, but then started the problem of the constant buzzing sound and the inconsistency with the freezer temperatures. Should I consider having the ice maker replaced?

If you are confident the noise is coming from the ice maker then the only way to get rid of it is to replace the ice maker.
