Compressor cycles 12 seconds on 90 seconds off repeatedly. could it be starter device or overload or cap or something else?

Hi,

Chances are it's just a bad start relay. I replace a lot of start relays on these refrigerators when there around 5 years old.

What I would do is first check the compressor with a meter to make sure it's ok. I would ohm out the start and run winding and make sure they are not shorted out to ground.

If the compressor checks ok (95% of the time they do) then I would go ahead and replace the start relay.
