Greetings, My wife found a washer in her glass of water the other night! I'd found a snap ring in the tray just prior to that. Considered these clues and investigated.

Seems that the ice no longer comes out the door fill! - Another clue! Took unit out and dissected components. Seems that the front of the Ice Container provides the STOP for the auger assembly to stay on the rear motor drive. Either years of use has resulted in the Auger-Nut (Part# AP3959104) that holds the washer and snap ring has chipped off to the point it won't retain the snap ring. Thus allowing the auger to push forward through the front of the container enough for the rear drive to disengage.

My Question: This plastic Nut-Auger part however, is securely on the auger shaft. How best is it removed, as to not damage other plastic parts behind it and/or the ice crushing blades?

Thank you in advance for your direction!

With Kind Regard,
