Model Number: 72132100 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a Kenmore fridge Model #72132100. I had posted on here about a month ago because the fridge was dripping water on the inside. It turned out that the Evap Drain? hole was plugged up. I unplugged the hole and removed all the built up ice in the freezer. I ran water down the tube and it seemed to be flowing freely, but now it is dripping again. When I posted last time I had asked what would cause the drain tube to freeze, and the reply I got was that it was just a fluke thing that should'nt happen again, but now it is doing the same thing a month later. Any ideas?

That actually happens frequently. there are a couple of things you can do. First clear the drain again. Then you can either take an old metal clothes hanger straighten it out with a hook on one end, place that "hook" over the defrost heater and the straight part down in the drain hole. (not the best choice but works.) There is also a drain heater we use a lot, part number SH250(comes with instructions) which is probably your best option.

The most important thing everybody over looks on this conditions in the leveling of the refrigerator. Look at the refrigerator, and see if the rear of the refrigerator is higher then the front. A good way to see if you have proper leveling is to open the refrigerator door, about 12 inches, and let it go. It should close by itself. If not, there will be a 3/8 screw on the bottom of the refrigerator, on each side, for you to turn clockwise, and the refrigerator will raise up in the front. Also if you have the freezer apart, and you have cleaned the drain, make sure the thin metal drain pan in the front is not bent down. Also get some dishwashing liquid, and put some on your hand a rub it on the metal part of the drain pan, this will help the water move into the drain hole. I see this problem so much, and it is usually because of improper refrigerator leveling. Tom ********************************************. I too am from Missouri.
