Sticky: read and tried to use your info but am confused. Was doing routine cleaning of compressor, cond. etc, when I noticed that it was not cycling. Do not know for how long. Freezer side was and still is well below zero. Frig side is minimum 40 near input vent at top and 55 more or less near the bottom. Yesterday removed plate over evap. Found small amt. frost near lower inside corner. No obstructions in freezer or duct to frige. Fan working properly. Heaters measured 18 ohms. Closed it up, reset the freezer control to minimum and fresh food to max. Let it run for 24 hours. Again, found freezer below zero and frig 40 to 50. Checked evap. again, still no ice. Read, again, your instructions. Seems the Temp control and Defrost timer are in the frig. and labeled Freezer control / Fresh food control. Have no idea how to test them. It would seem that with the controls in a warm frig, the freezer will run forever. Do not understand why but today when I reduced the fresh food control to half scale, the compressor shut down for the first time in three days. Came back on in about five minutes and is still running.

Thanks for a great site and any suggestions.

In the Summer, there are more thermal losses in the fridg. section. The freezer control is really controlling the air into the fridg. section. If you set it for more air into the fridg. the fridg. cold control will turn off the compressor sooner. Just check the airflow while turning the control.
You might want to check the door gaskets and condensing coils to keep losses to a minimum.
