Once again, this fridge has just stopped cooling. The fan keeps running but not blowing any cold air, and the ice in freezer is melting. Compressor will not come on. I've unplugged it and left it alone. I'm not sure what else to try; it seems like maybe the internals of the compressor must just be bad. Or maybe the defrost cycle is not shutting down to allow cooling to begin again. (??)
I've replaced control board with the new version used by GE. The fridge quit cooling again and we had a repair tech replace the compressor relay and overload. This is the third time it has done this same thing.
I think it may be time for a new refrigerator.

Have you had the thermostat checked? typically it will be the control board or the thermostat and since you have replaced the control board i would look at the thermostat. not sure about your paticular unit but they run around $60 to $90 and if you are handy you can save the $200 to $300 labor cost and replace it yourself.
