i just bought a new defroster and unfortunately bought the wrong one, of course tho i bought the more expensive one rather than the cheaper one. will this create a problem and when they are working how hot do these get. i have replaced the timer and now the heater so i am hoping this solves my problems thanks for the help dennis

it fits but it did not seem to get very warm when i started everything back up

If the resistance of the new heater is alot different than the resistance designed for this model it could cause it to not get as hot as the old one. If you can locate the tech manual for your fridge which should be located somewhere on the frame, either taped or screwed on, you can see what the original heater resistance was we could probably find the info for you

well acording to the model number and the diagrams on your site i have bought the right one but what came out is not the same as what is pictured. can not find the tech manual

ok, well if you bought the part based on the model# for your fridge, than you should be good to go. These heaters do not get hot like an oven element would. It will burn you if you touch it, but wont glow red. I'm sure your fine.
