Exclamation Refridgerator will not stay cold

My freezer and fridge will not stay cold. I have unpluged it to reset it and it will freeze for a day or two then stop. Whats the problem with my refridgerator or is it time to replace it. I have owned this one for 8 yrs. Help Please!!

Can you elaborate on this a bit? How long was it unplugged? Can you put a thermometer in the frezzer & frig and post those readings?

The first time I left it unplugged for a 24 hrs then the second time i left it unplugged for 8hrs.... Not sure of the temperature inside the fridge guess around 50 because everything is thawing out from top of fridge to bottom

In the freezer side, remove the lower panel, held on by 6 screws, and see if you have a lot of ice buildup there. Is the fan in the freezer running?
