my ice maker works fine sometimes for days then it wont dump ice so i use a hair dryer on the ice tray are for a couple minutes and it dumps out..it is a whirlpool side by side

Sounds like the mold heater (under the ice maker) is malfunctioning. The solution is to replace the ice maker.

The best solution in such situation is to replace the ice maker. If you need the correct part number, post the complete model number of the refrigerator.

hi gene" ok i new ice maker part ,,plugged it in now what,,how long do i wait until it fills with water,,its been like 20 minutes and nothing

ok i new this would happen,,,right after i hit the send button on this message it started working,,,lol it looks like the old one had all the slick surface gone in many places,,probably becuase of hard water in our area,,,thank yo sir for your help ,,another happy customer brian

The new ice maker has to cool down bellow 10°F.
