:) Hello all,
Great site! I’ve got a GE/Hotpoint CSX27DMA that I bought new in 1991. (Serial # 247947) Recently ice cream started turning soft in the freezer and the ice in the ice maker appeared to have melted then refroze. There was no unusual ice buildup anywhere except for a little clear ice in the bottom of the freezer. The drain hole was not blocked. We emptied everything out, unplugged and defrosted the unit for several days and vacuumed off the condenser and fan. It’s been empty, plugged back in and running for a week now with a thermometer in the freezer. I’ve never changed the fresh food or freezer controls since it was new. They are both set on the second from the highest settings. All fans appear to be running. Checking once or twice daily, I’ve noted the freezer temperatures have fluctuated anywhere from 10 degrees to 30 degrees Fahrenheit but never holding a consistent temperature. Any ideas?
