I have a Figidare model #MRT18NREW3 top freezer made in 1998. It's making a constant almost cat like purring sound but extremely loud. The sound is coming from the freezer section where the temp control and the vents are. The sides are cool and the top is same The coils are not frosted and the compressor is hot. It also doesn't stop running and is having a hard time keeping things frozen on top and cold on bottom. Before this, we had to keep it adjusted so it wouldn't freeze things on the top shelf of the frige.
