We discovered our ice maker and control panel displayed the error code (at least that is what I am assuming) ER 1F. We turn off the main power to the unit and then turn it back on. The display works for about 2-3 minutes and then everything shuts down. There is no ice, but the water is available before the eror code appears. The filter appears to be OK. I called repair services and they aren't available for a week. So far the refrigerator appears to be working OK except for the display panel which also controls the temperature! I see no other temperature setting device, so we are concerned that we will lose the use of the refrigerator for at least a week. I hope someone can help. Thank you.

You have two control boards in that fridg. If the encoder board in the freezer door fails, I believe the control board in the back will default to the factory settings, freezer like 10 degrees, fridg. at 35 so you are probably ok for now. If the control board in the back failed, you would not have a functional refrigerator. If you wish, you can try just replacing the encoder door pc board yourself, just order it at this site, they have a decent return policy.
Maybe somebody else can give more info, I have never worked on this type refigerator.
