Default Condenser Fan? Main Board? Hose Broken???
Model Number: PFS22SISBSS   Brand: GE   Age: 1 - 5 years

Okay -- so I have a few problems here...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Came home to a puddle of water under the right side of my fridge/freezer.
Pulled the unit away from the wall to clean up the mess. Found the condenser hose along the back left (facing back of unit) cracked and separated from the coupling at the nipple. Hose is a special fit and can't be "spliced" back in to the metal coupling. Water gushed out and had to be turned off at the main. While I was back there I noticed the coils were pretty hot and the fan next to the coils was not moving. When I touched the fan it started spinning but not effectively.

I think I have two problems --

1 -- the broken hose
2 -- the fan (not sure if this is a fan issue or a main board issue)

Don't know where to begin. Dreading having to call a GE tech b/c of the cash issue. Unit is not under "warranty" anymore and doesn't have an extended service plan. If I can fix it myself I'd like to...any ideas or suggestions???

Thanks in advance...

Kelly
