I replaced the thermostat based on testing the timer and heater out OK. I was advised to advance the timer so it would be just coming out of defrost. I did this about 3pm CST. It is now 11pm CST and the evaporator coils are frosted, except where the thermostat is located. Is that normal. Also, the refrigerator temperature is currently @ 56 degrees. Is that normal? Please help me. Thanks!

You might have frost causing an airflow problem, check for some restriction.
Also, measure the freezer temperature and post.
