My fridge stopped dispensing water. Long story short, the button face plate broke, so it only snaps in place. A friend was cleaning and I wasn't home (so I don't know the whole story) but the ribbon cable was out. I put it back in (but it seems loose, ie if I don't put it in back just so, nothing works) so now, ice dispenses, light works, but when I go for water, only the switch for the light comes on, but not water. The ice maker still gets water/makes ice, so to me, that rules out the inlet valve. I also tried disconnecting the hose at the bottom of the door, and when I try to dispense, nothing but the light. Same goes for when I remove the filter and try. Basically my question is, is there another wire that's not making contact due to the poor ribbon connection? Not sure if the circuit for the light switch is on the button board, or not. I just want to make sure before I order up the new ribbon cable. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
