No water is running into the icemaker. Water line to icemaker on back of frig is OK. Is there any way to check the water valve to see if it is working properly? Any other ideas as to what may be wrong?

If you have a water dispenser on the freezer door, just go to the back of fridg, remove panel and swap the two connectors going to the water solenoid. Next, press the water dispenser and see if water goes into the ice maker, if so, you probably have a bad ice maker or water valve.
To confirm, stick 115 volts to the terminals of the water solenoid that feeds the smaller plastic line. If no water=bad water solenoid, or frozen fill tube in the freezer.
