I have a Frigidaire with an ice maker that will not make ice. I have replaced both the water valve and ice maker unit with new parts. I have also checked to ensure water is getting to the valve and that the line from the valve to the ice maker is open.
I'm at a loss for why this thing isn't working. Seems like I've replaced all the parts that could have gone out. Seems like the only thing left to replace is the wiring harness, but I wouldn't expect this to be something that would be faulty.
Ice maker was working fine. Went away for a week. When I got back home, I noticed no new ice was being made as I was using it up.
I do not see or hear the ice maker running a cycle at all. I do not hear it activate the water valve. I've raised the arm and lowered. No cycle. I've pulled everything out and reinstalled to be sure I have all connections good. No cycle.
Should it start a cycle as soon as it is powered on? How long after replacing the parts should it be before I hear a cycle or have ice? Is there anything that has to be reset? Is everything controlled by the ice maker itself? Are there any other boards that might control this?
Any ideas are appreciated.
James
