Default Control Board Installation Instructions
Model Number: KSFS25FKWH00   Brand: Kitchen Aid   Age: 5 - 10 years

Bad main control board WHP4389211 is the number from whirlpool...however the new board is much different from the current, and I have discovered that they changed the part (upgraded as they call it)....but the part I recieved from APP does not have any instructions, nor according to customer service should have any.

After calling Whirlpool, they claim it should have a tech sheet on how to change the wiring to facilitate the new board install as the connectors are very different on the new board........

HELP... Frustrated in Oregon

Here is the instructions sheet for the 4389211 board. I don't see anything as far as re-wiring though.

Look at this photo. Does it look the same as the new board you got from us?

These instructions have nothing to do with the board.......... yes that is the part....but it is much different than what came out of my refrigerator. See picture of what board is in my refrigerator (and yes I am sure of the model number on the refrigerator)

I know you're frustrated and I am trying to help...

The one in your picture is not the same board. It's not an older version of it either. It's not the same, period. In the compressor area there are two electronic components - one's the main board (4389211) and the other is a gray box called inverter box (#17 on the diagram below). I personally don't know what the board that's inside the box looks like because I never worked on this model, but I have a feeling it looks a lot like what's on your photo. Can you check?
