I have a GE profile refrigerator and have some questions.

We just moved into a new to us house and our ice and water dispenser worked fine. I noticed one day that it had a light swith on the front panel. Ibought the appropriate bulb went to turn it on and it made a poppping noise:eek: and now the ice and water dispenser are not working.

I think it may be the control panel but I would also like for the light to work. Why would the light cause this problem? Do you think it will happen again if I replace the control panel? All wiring looks good and is properly seated?

Also my fridge is bisque colored and has the front wood panels. I am thinking about painting the front visible sections but was curious if the Ice dispenser frame and nameplate could be purchased in black?

Thanks in advance.
