My GE Profile (PFS22SISBS) freezer no longer stays cold but the refrigerator temperature is fine. The freezer jumps around to 10 or 20F.. I noticed the condenser fan wasn't spinning fast. GE replaced the motherboard which made the fan spin normal speed again and the freezer worked for about a day then freezer quit cooling again (fan speed is fine now though). GE replaced the motherboard...again. It worked for about a day then quit cooling...again. So, it's looking like the motherboard isn't the only original problem. The freezer works well for about a day each time they replace the motherboard. Forgive me cause I don't exactly understand how the freezer maintains temperature but it's almost like each time they replace the motherboard, it resets the freezer which cools just fine to 0 degrees but then when it hits the target temperature and it knows it's okay to let it warm up a little, it's like something is "sticking" that is letting it get warm and not turning off to let the cooling take back over? Any idea on what the other part or parts that are causing me problems could be? Bad thermostat? Does the freezer thermistor commonly go bad when motherboard fries?

The problem can be a bad condenser fan motor itself. If it's shorted, it'll damage the control board.

Check the resistance between the white to the red wire and the white to the yellow wire. If it’s less than 1K ohm, the condenser fan motor is shorted and has to be replaced.

White to yellow was over 100K...white to red was 1.6K. Fan seems to work fine and spins freely manually too.

It would not hurt if you replace both thermistors (#241 on the diagram) in the freezer and this part is not expensive. Both thermistors are identical.

Just took apart the inside of the freezer and see the evaporator coils are dry as a desert...not even a thin layer of frost. Does that help pinpoint the issue?

Does the compressor run?

If it does, then there is a problem with the sealed (cooling) system.

If it does not, then there is a problem with the main control board or the compressor itself.
