Default Refrigerate - Sticky door handle
Model Number: TFXW7F   Brand: GE   Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi There,
Thank you for this great site. It's my first time here and I hope, I'll get help from you.
My refrigerate has a sticky handle; it's too old I guess, but it works perfectly. I found the parts on your site but I don't know how to install it. The part is under TFXW7FLB, no. 7 called stiffner part no. AP2062098. I'm not sure that is the rubber part that covers the door handle(that I need) and I don't know how can I replace it without changing the metal part that is good. Do I have access from outside the door?
Do I have to change the entire handle, metal and rubber? Only the rubber is damaged.
I was looking at this picture, Model TFXW27FLB

section 2

I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you. Maria

Looking at the diagram I do not think the part#7 is what you need. Most likely this #6 - insert handle. Unfortunately I never replaced it and there are no manuals available on-line.

- The part number for the insert handle is AP2062571

Gene.
