oven temp sensors interchangeable?

I have a GE electric oven that needs a new oven temperature sensor. There are different ones for different brands but I'm wondering if they are somewhat universal except for the connectors and maybe the mounting plate. If so, can I cut off the connector and wire nut one on even if its for a different brand oven?

Why not just get the correct one!!

They are all pretty standard when it comes to resistance.
It is important that the mount be the same and that it protrudes into the oven the same distance.

You could install it with wire nuts. I would use the Bakelite type as they have better heat resistance, Also be sure to get a very good connection as any resistance in the connection will effect the oven's temperature.
