my washer suddenly has stoped performing the wash cycle/action.. times out and goes to rinse cycles.. any ideas??

Since the machine preforms all of the agitation and drain and spin activities the problem is probably electrical.

Take off the timer connection and clean the contacts, and check all of the wiring between the motor and the timer.

If this all checks out, consider replacing the timer.
