I can't seem to pin point where this noise is coming from. After hours of research my gut tells me I need to check the blower wheel and make sure it's secure. Anyone have any ideas. There's a link at the bottom for an mp3. The microphone is near the bottom left of the dryer with clothes in it. The noise isnt always there but seems to get worse as the dryer warms up. Thanks in advance for any help.

I couldn't listen to your file. Can you describe the noise?

There is a video on this page that shows how to get into the dryer and change the rollers or idler pulley.

One for the blower wheel.

Thanks for responding, sorry the file didn't work for you. I would say it sounds like teeth chattering, probably about 10 chatters per second. It varies in volume, sometimes it can be heard several rooms away from the dryer with the door shut. It seems to Begin and become louder if the dryer has been on for a while. I'm not sure if the load has anything to do with it but it seems to be worse with heavy wet towels rather than lighter clothing. I'm in the process of taking it apart now and removing the drum to see what I can come up with.

Thanks
Ryan

There could be something hitting the blower wheel or it could be a bad roller or maybe idler pulley.

Watch the vids and be careful of sharp edges. Good luck.

took it apart, found something loose. It appears that there at 2 black brackets (i guess called fixer motor). The one in the rear near the idler pulley is VERY loose to the point where I can pull the entire motor up about 1/2 inch very easily. It would rattle like crazy sitting on the motor im sure. Maybe a dumb question but i assume i should tighten this with a pair of pliers or should it be replaced?

Thanks
Ryan
