kind of a grinding noise during draining cycle

The dishwasher seems to run fine during all wash cycles however when it starts to drain it makes sort of a grinding sound. It appears to drain out ok but not without this new noise. I'm wondering if this could be the drain pump? I would appreciate any advice I can get. Thanks in advance.

Mine did that because there was something banging around in the pump.
Also, the chopper could be loose, or cracked (impeller).
