If it just stops after reaching fill level or works but doesn't spin yes i'd look at lid switch as well. Sometimes they split down the middle and in a pinch can be held together with a zip tie. We always replace them though. But the new ones get zip ties ;-) if it sounds like it's trying to run it may need a coupler or a clutch.
