Great forum with lots of useful information....

Dryer info:
Roper RGD4440VQ1 gas dryer

Now my problem:
Dryer wont heat up to dry clothes, the drum spins but no heat. The ignitor does not glow, no power to ignitor, coils or flame sensor...

Things tried so far:
1- Checked the continuity of thermal fuse, cycling thermostat, thermal cutoff, and high limit thermostat at the back of the unit...
2- Checked the continuity of the timer, gas coils, ignitor, and flame sensor...
3- Checked voltage to the drive motor, gas coils, ignitor and flame sensor...(With and without the unit running in a timed high heat mode.
4- Checked voltage to door switch.

Results of testing:
1- Thermal fuse was tripped (incomplete circuit).
2- All other components showed continuity.
( Ignitor read approx 119 ohlms (40 ohlms reference according to wiring diagram).
3- Drive motor voltage approx 120 vAC
4- gas coils, ignitor and flame sensor voltage = zero
5- Door switch voltage approx 120 vac
Replaced:
1- Thermal fuse
2- cycling thermostat.

Dont know what to try next. I think the problem might be in the timer since no power is getting to the gas coils, ignitor or flame sensor.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I agree, sounds like the timer. Timers on this model are cheaply made and are a common failure item. Timer can be returned if it doesn't fix the problem.
