My dryer is taking a long time to dry. I have check the vent duct and it is clear of lint and has no kinks or crushed sections. It is also less than 5 feet long. What could be causing this and how do I go about diagnosing? Thanks for any help.

JC,
Check and make sure the duct under the lint filter and the blower housing is not clogged or restricted. If Thats not the issue you will need to test the cycling thermostat and thermostat heater

for circuits and operation. and the high limit switch,

especially if it's been taking a long time to dry for awhile and the vent was clogged.
