My simmer switch burned out two years ago. At the time I just bypassed it, but now I that I've finally got a new switch I can't remember what I did. The cct diagram with the stove does not mention the simmer switch. I am an electronic technician, so I just need to know how it should be hooked up.
The main switch for that element has 2 red heat resistant wires for the burner (for regular power), but also 2 lilac heat resistant wires. I think one of these must be what I want. I still have the white (neutral) going to one side of the simmer switch.
It is Kitchenaid Superba model YKERC507-HA0

Hopefully the wiring diagram (page 4) will help.
