Have a small problem here, thank you for any help in advance. Ok we have Whirlpool Gas Stove SF303PEKWO serial # VEL3101084 and its about 5 years old or so i guess. Ok the stovetop works fine. The oven does not seem to work at all. I Can see a glowing coming from the bottom but it does not lite. Ive let it sit a bit and check it and it doesnt smell of gas. And also I hear no gas when i turn the stove or broiler. The glowing thing is almost right up next to a long rod that runs the depth of the stove. The rod has a bunch of holes in a line. I assume this is where gas comes out. It act likes its getting no gas. Thanks for any help

The glowing thing will be the ignitor (see the following link).

That will be the oven burner.

Both oven ignitor and gas valve both have to function properly in order for gas to be released into the oven burner to be lit. It is a safety design feature.

If the ignitor IS glowing it means the control system is doing its job which leaves either the ignitor or the gas valve as possible causes for the problem. The only way to find out which is responsible is to measure the amperage draw on the ignitor circuit as described at the link above.

LINK > Whirlpool SF303PEKW0 Oven Gas Valve

The ignitor is the most common (~70-80%) troublemaker in such an ignition system but the gas valve can fail too. And yes, an ignitor can glow and still be defective.
