I have a GE model WBB4500E1WW washer that spins but does not agitate. It sounds as though the motor is running in the wash cycles, but it doesn't agitate at all. It doesn't smell like anything is burning, and it doesn't make any weird noises. It fills and drains and the spin cycle is fine. I have read elsewhere that it could be the bell housing or the transmission. Is there any way to tell? Thanks!

Pull the agitator (be careful it can come loose suddenly) and replace this part

Part number: AP3964635
Part number: AP3964635

Hopefully that will fix things. If not, observe it running with the front panel off and see what that tells you.

Thanks for responding! I wound up taking the agitator off and all the teeth were fine and it gripped like it was supposed to. So I took the front off and figured out that the motor was running fine but the transmission was not doing anything. Thanks for the help!
