My refreigerator or freezer will not get cold. I cleaned the coils and turned it back on and let it run all night and it is still warm.

First you have to determine if the compressor is running.
You can usually hear it also it should be warm and you should be able to feel it vibrating.

Check that the condenser/compressor fan is running.

Check that the evaporator fan is running.

If the compressor is running unplug the unit and remove the cover inside the freezer so you can inspect the coils.

If there is no frost at all on them you either have a compressor problem, are out or freon or have a plug in the sealed system.
All of the above will be an expensive repair as you will need a pro.
