The softener dispenser spins softener out onto clothes. At the end of the cycle it is all over the rim of the tub and onto clothes. Any suggestions??

Softener dispensers on these models are awful things, in part because they don't work very well in getting all the softener out and this gums up things over time. I would take it off, soak it in hot water for about a week and see if you can clean it out and see if that helps.

The design on the Maytag/Whirlpool models is just not very good (the rest of the machine is great though)
