I am trying to troubleshoot this range for a friend. Complaint: "Oven began acting erratic and would heat up sometimes and others it would not". I checked the range and found cooktops, fan etc. to work just fine however this time the oven/broil knob showed me no indicator light nor did it attempt to heat up. Where do I start? Thanks

Check if the "auto-manual" switch is in "manual" position. Check if this switch is working properly. Here are the break down diagrams for the Modern Maid range Model FCI122Gene.
