GE Washer wprb8050d1ww. On my last load, the washer leaked quite a bit of water on the floor, and was not overloaded. I also had to wring the clothes out, as they did not drain properly.

I just tried a quick fill and drain. No leaks, but after draining, the spinning stopped - but the motor kept humming and sounded as if it was still trying to drain. No additional spinning. Ideas?

Take the front off and watch it to see where the leak is coming from. I have a feeling it is going to be the tub seal. If this is the case it will be leaking where the tub and the transmission meet. This is most likely causing the washer not to spin, as it should hence your clothes are not ringed out as they should.

To repair this you will have replace the transmission and the tub seal maybe a belt depending on if the belt was slipping on account of the other problems. This page will show how to take the washer apart to access the transmission.

did it drain completely? If not, you may have a clogged drain pump.

It did drain completely, as well as spinn. It seemed that after it drained, the spinning stopped, but the pump continued to work for several minutes, and the motor kept humming along during the process. No additional spinning took place.
