Hello,
My dryer will not heat @ all. It blows fine, all of the fuses as well as the heating element are good and I get 240 from the outlet. I took it to a repair shop for diagnostics and the repair main told me that there is a switch on the motor that has gone bad. However, upon reviewing the exploded diagram of the inside of my dryer, I didn't see any part labeled as the motor. Do you know what this part is and if my dryer even has a "motor"?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for Maytag MED5870TW0 29" ELECTRIC DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.comThe motor is Item 22 in Section 1. Click on it's picture for more info/views of it. See the attachment for the wiring diagram. You will see two switches just to the right of the motor in the wiring diagram. Theses are the centrifugal switches, they close when the motor gets close to operating speed. The far right one is for the heating coil. It ensures that the heat does not come on before there is air flow. |
