Of all the wash cycles, the Delicates cycle is used most often. On the Delicates cycle, the spin and drain cycles work itermittently.

When the spin doesn't start, the selector dial is rotated 360 degrees to the spin position. 8 out of 10 times the spin will start on the first, second, or third attempt.

When drainage is incomplete, the dial is rotated to the Heavy cycle "spin only" position and drainage completes every time.

I suspect the timer under neath the selector dial. What do you think the problem is?

Can the timer be repaired by opening it (say if assembled with screws or hot glue) and cleaning and polishing the electrical contacts?
